" Wrong Woman"

Don't ever tell me about the "wrong woman". There is no such fucking thing

Wifey linked me to the post at the LA Times and wrote an excellent response piece about selective history.

I can't get beyond the " wrong woman"

I have a deep love for far too many "wrong women"

Now personally I frankly do not give a rat's ass about Sarah Palin.

But I pray every night for Adele Nieves, I hold gifts she gives me close to my heart in every way.

And she is a wrong woman.

And being a wrong woman

Well we know what that means .

We can not have it both ways.

We can not claim to be for the rights of all women , the safety and freedom of women TO LIVE THEIR OWN CHOSEN LIVES and then

also say they are wrong.

Because we KNOW what happens to " wrong woman". When a woman is any kind of woman instead of a human being we KNOW what happens.

Let's not pretend we don't.

Let's not pretend we don't understand that when a woman is wrong it's a code for us to not value her, to not pay attention to her ramblings,

When a woman is wrong she can be told to "go kill her self", When a women is wrong she can be reduced to a symbol to prove on how other women are being treated with little actual concern for her own person as outside of theory.

When a woman is wrong she is worth less than silverware.

I dislike Sarah Palin. ie. she is beyond earrings and vaseline she enters cornrows and circle call on earth brawl territory

but if she is a woman. I am for EVEN HER right to protection

and at least base consideration.

It is not enough for us to make snide comments and pithy putdowns of " the right' and " the media" as if this is the way to salvation.

I can believe a womans views are wrong , shit assinine and pgheaded without believeing that she is inherently wrong for even HER OWN life. Sarah Palin's views work for her .

The problem is she believes they work for everyone else as well , and

the outrage over her is starting to make me sick.

Because those who would call her a wrong woman, whiile decrying her as a tool of the patriarchy have done it all before . Wrong woman can wait till it is time for them to be heard if no other right woman is available

Wrong woman is not about rights or safety, wrong woman is about

The "RIGHT" woman

the right woman , who isn't threatening to " regular men" but is threatening to the patriarchy, teh right woman to be heard, the right woman who isn't one of those scary hairy legged feminists, those bulldykes, those ABW.

This is about who the believe they should be talking to, the right woman to get the byline

Because that is what right women do, the believe in x and y and z and follwo these tenets

and how is that different from the very woman we are calling wrong?

This is is about controlling who we hear from
The women we have ALWAYS heard from.

While I am disgusted with her, and hope she never sees the inside of any position of significant power ever again.

But if she is wrong, and intersectionalists are wrong

and hairy lesbians are wrong

and WOC are wrong.

and Michele Obama isn't right enough

and Andrea Smith isn't well known enough

if hockey mom is a pejorative but we don't want to say why

if community organizer is only a good word when some one has a presidential bid behind it or is DEAD.

If our only comfort is how much smarter we are or better we are than

THOSE people.

then your damn right something is wrong


But not what we think it is.
