White people please stop trying to explain to other white folks what Obama means to black folks.
White women please PLEASE PLEASE stop talking about the sadness of Michelle Obama being a "mom" first, in the context of feminism when you haven't a gad damn clue on what that means in teh context of her being African American and teh meanings of work outside the home as one , and sweet minty Christmas don't say her being black is extra scary and think it makes you erudite without explaining it. Oh that's right you don't know because you can't be assed to SHUT UP for ten minutes and listen to more than three black people before being an expert.
Also the rush to save ass is transparent and sad but please please please stop carrying the banner as defenders of the woman's everydamn move. She's human and needs to be treated as such. An icon is still a servant
Brown folks I know Prop 8 was dissapointing but please if you want to ( which I think is necessary)talk about homophobia in our specific communities please please PLEASe use something that involves , real life experience, data that is maybe not the worlds flimsiest exit poll, and if you happen to be straight have a coke and a smile and a sit the fuck down.
Gay people mostly the smae but once again not a POC please don't pontificate . Also I may be alone in this but I get why you'd be dissapointed . If so, agree. Although I'd be curious to understand what you are saying re "the meanings of work outside the home as [an African American woman]."
